Family Owned and Operated!
We realize what's important!
From the beginning, An Occasional Chocolate has been a family-owned business. As we grow and change we still like it that way.
If you occasionally hear a cute little pumpkin noise in the background, it is because owner and founder, Cheryl Sandberg, believes family comes first.
Suzi Baxter, long-time customer service manager at An Occasional Chocolate, isn't biological family but is as close as it gets! "I love the fact that Cheryl lets me be at home and work around my baby. It brings us so much closer together!" Suzi is top notch when it comes to customer service. "An Occasional Chocolate wouldn't be where it is today without our customers," states Cheryl, "and Suzi makes sure they are happy."
Suzi also mentions, "Since being a mommy is my greatest joy (and most important job!), I am grateful that Cheryl allows me to work from home so that I can be with my baby while interacting with our customers. I get the best of both worlds."
Cheryl has been a work-at-home mom for 10 years and plans to continue. "Although sometimes it’s difficult to find balance, it builds us together as a family and that is what I love!"
Cheryl's children all help in the business as well as her husband, who calls himself "the muscles of the operation."
Cheryl's eldest daughter and son both express interest in keeping the business running long after she wants to retire. "I love how it teaches all three kids entrepreneurship, the backbone of the United States,” she says.
